The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, automation, cloud technologies and identity management, with some exposure to database operations.

You will help keep Baringa’s infrastructure reliable, secure and continually improving by solving complex incidents, supporting Windows and Azure services, and taking ownership of key services. You’ll use automation and collaborate across Technology & Cyber to strengthen operations and bring new services smoothly into support.

It’s a varied, hands-on role where you can troubleshoot, automate, strengthen resilience and contribute to meaningful improvements. You’ll have the freedom to take ownership, share your knowledge and make a visible impact within a supportive InfraOps team.

Infrastructure and Cloud Operations

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and network systems.
  • Deploy, operate and improve Azure infrastructure services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring and Azure Virtual Desktop where applicable.
  • Implement cloud governance, cost optimization, and scaling strategies.
  • Explore and implement constant improvements of the infrastructure stack, in line with ITIL.

Database Operations

  • Administer and maintain MSSQL and Azure SQL databases.
  • Monitor performance and manage backups and restores.
  • Implement efficient user and group-based access control using SQL Server roles and Active Directory integration.
  • Ensure least-privilege access and regularly audit permissions.

User and Group Management

  • Manage user identities and group memberships across Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) for infrastructure and database resources.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to enforce access policies.

Automation and Scripting

  • Automate infrastructure tasks using Azure, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.

Monitoring and Incident Response

  • Manage monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
  • Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.

Security and Compliance

  • Apply patches and updates to infrastructure components.
  • Manage firewalls, access controls, and vulnerability scans.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Compile and report infrastructure operations for audits such as ISO and CE+

Collaboration and Documentation

  • Work closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Take part in major incident management operations with the MIM.

Your skills and experience

  • Proven senior-level experience in infrastructure operations, systems administration and service ownership.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, backup and recovery.
  • Strong Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID experience, including hybrid identity, role-based access, privileged access and access reviews.
  • Experience managing Windows Server services, including DNS, DHCP, certificates, file services, Group Policy and server lifecycle management.
  • Backup, restore and disaster recovery experience, including completing restores and participating in recovery exercises.
  • Operational networking knowledge, including IP addressing, routing, DNS, virtual networks, firewalls, VPNs and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring, patching and vulnerability management, including alert improvement, remediation prioritisation and risk evidence.
  • Strong incident, problem and change management skills, including ownership of complex incidents, root-cause analysis and controlled production changes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and infrastructure automation, particularly PowerShell, with suitable use of version control and peer review.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work across global teams, coach colleagues and produce clear technical and audit evidence.
