Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant who can operate independently across a complex, multi-entity group. You will lead the month-end close for UK and US entities, strengthen controls, and play a central role in building audit-ready infrastructure under IFRs. This is a hands-on role for someone who can step into unfamiliar environments, diagnose issues quickly, and improve them with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Management Accounting

  • Own the month-end close for multiple group entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong controls
  • Prepare consolidated management accounts with clear variance analysis and insights
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, accruals, deferred revenue, WIP, and intercompany activity

Finance Transformation and Systems

  • Design and implement scalable, automated processes across payables, revenue, payroll, and the general ledger
  • Lead key elements of the finance architecture transformation
  • Improve reporting, data quality, and the speed of month-end

Acquisition Integration and Entity Stabilisation

  • Assess and stabilise newly acquired entities, establishing Lawhive standards across controls, reporting, and compliance
  • Act as finance lead for integrations, ensuring accurate migration of processes, systems, and data
  • Identify operational risks early and drive clear remediation plans

Cashflow, Controls, and Strategic Support

  • Build and maintain direct method cashflow models for group planning
  • Strengthen financial controls and support audit readiness
  • Partner with finance leadership and teams across the business on complex decision-making and strategy

About you:

  • Chartered Accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) with strong PQE in management accounting and group finance
  • Confident operating independently in complex, multi-entity environments and comfortable working through ambiguity
  • Deep technical understanding of IFRS, consolidations, intercompany accounting, WIP, revenue recognition, and law firm finance
  • Experienced in finance transformation across systems, processes, automation, and integrations
  • Highly analytical with strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn data into clear insights
  • Strong communicator who can influence stakeholders and drive change
  • Thrives in high-growth environments where autonomy, adaptability, and high standards are core
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and works effectively with minimal supervision
